Umno Supreme Working Council (MKT) member Azalina Othman Said questioned that if the power to change the Attorney General is in the hands of the Prime Minister (PM), why does the PM not change the Attorney General when it is the PM’s jurisdiction.
The people also asked the PM to change Chief Justice Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat and Attorney General Idrus Harun. Tengku Maimun was appointed as the chief judge during the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government, while Idrus was appointed by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government under the leadership of Muhyiddin Yassin.
Now the information about the Attorney General’s Chambers’ letter to Judge Collin Lawrence Sequerah has shocked Malaysians once again. Citing a post on Dr Puad Zarkashi’s Facebook, he raised the issue of the letter. If the letter is true then it is an act of interfering with the affairs of the Court. Therefore, the Attorney General is no longer obliged to be replaced but obliged to resign immediately.
The letter is evidence of conspiracy, revenge and malicious intent. Najib was jailed after being denied a fair trial. Now the movement to request that Zahid’s case be prioritized seems to want him to be imprisoned as soon as possible. Is this the act of an enemy in hiding or the act of a real enemy of UMNO?
The Attorney General has to deny if the letter is fake.
Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi told the High Court that he had been ‘threatened’ by Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad to disband UMNO and join Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) before this. Mahathir asked Zahid to leave UMNO to avoid something happening to him.
Therefore, Zahid is convinced that the criminal charges against him stemmed from his refusal to dissolve UMNO and jump parties. The trial of Zahid’s case was heard before Judge Datuk Collin Lawrence Sequerah.
The question that is playing in people’s minds right now is why the cases of Nazlan and Zeti, which have very strong foundation, are not prosecuted as soon as possible. The cases of Nazlan and Zeti can prove that Datuk Seri Najib is innocent. Was an unfair trial deliberately brought against Najib so that he could be imprisoned?
Former Law Minister, Zaid Ibrahim, demanded the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) to “come forward to tell the truth” regarding the anti-corruption agency’s investigation into Court of Appeal Judge Nazlan Ghazali.
Attorney General Idrus Harun’s statement that the MACC investigation papers are not with the Attorney General’s Chambers invited the people’s dismay. Is our judicial system filled with corruption? Now the people have lost faith in the Malaysian judicial system.
MACC also needs to clarify whether the copy of the leaked report regarding the investigation into Nazlan is valid.
Now viral on social media the cry stating that the Malaysian court is a “kangaroo court”. Why is Ismail Sabri as PM not intervening to ensure that our judicial system hears cases fairly? He is not asked to drop the case. Ismail Sabri is only asked to ensure that the UMNO leader gets a fair trial. It turns out that Ismail Sabri is the failed PM.
